The Cali Pass Banked Slalom Pro/Am Tour presented by 805 kicked off Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Mountain High, CA. This was the first stop in the biggest Banked Slalom tour on the West Coast, with more than $30,000 in cash & prizes on the line.
Under blue skies and snowy trees, competitors raced before a sold-out crowd. This was Mountain High's biggest event of the season.
The course stretched from a windy, wintery summit to a serene finish about a half mile down the mountain. Each competitor received two runs, with the fastest combined times winning. However, individual times were still critical and will help determine the series' overall winner.
In the Men’s Open Division, Olympian Nate Holland took the win and leads the point standings going into China Peak on March 9th. Melissa Shulz took first place in the Women's Open division followed closely by Nelly Steinhoff. Please see below for a full list of winners.
John McColly, Vice President of Sales & Marketing For The California Mountain Resort Co., said, "We had more fun racing banked slaloms these past couple of years than anything else. So we decided to host the biggest series of all and bring our friends from 805, Volcom, K2, and more. Together, these are the companies making snowboarding what it is today and we couldn't be more excited to host the first stop."
Contestants have the option to enter individual events or participate in the full series. The next event takes place at China Peak, CA, on Saturday, March 9, 2024, and then moves North to Dodge Ridge for the finale on March 16. The Open winners will be awarded the "2024 Cali Pass Banked Slalom Champion" title and share in the $30,000 prize pool.
